Michelle Jones is a Board Certified employment attorney specializing in labor and employment law and has over 30 years experience representing employers in litigation and counseling employers concerning critical employment decisions, policies and practices. Michelle has been Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1995. After graduating from Baylor Law School, she started her practice in Dallas as an attorney in the Labor and Employment section of Gardere & Wynne and later practiced at Hughes & Luce. Michelle is only one of a few attorneys in East Texas specializing in Labor and Employment Law and has represented a number of high-profile companies, Fortune 500 companies, and employers. Michelle handles litigation matters involving employment contracts, non-compete, trade secret and confidentiality agreements, employment discrimination, wage and hour (FLSA) claims, collective actions, wrongful termination, leave of absence (FMLA), and Americans with Disabilities Act claims. Michelle has handled complex litigation, including multi-party claims and wage and hour collective actions. She has also handled arbitration matters, including labor arbitrations. Michelle also helps employers develop and implement employee policies and practices, conducts employee investigations, and provides employee training. She also provides employers with general employment advice, including terminations, reductions in force, and employment and severance agreements.
Recently, Michelle’s employment law practice has involved defending employers against claims by their employees making claims that they were not paid or properly paid overtime.
Michelle is licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas, member of the State Bar of Texas and a member of the Labor and Employment section of the Bar.
