Longview

Longview is a city of approximately 80,000 people and is the county seat of Gregg County which has a population of approximately 120,000.  The District and Gregg County courts are located in Longview.  Longview is a hub for health care and two of the major employers are Good Shepherd Medical Center and Longview Regional Medical Center. Longview has 3 school districts – Longview, Pine Tree and Spring Hill.  Longview is centrally located in the East Texas Region.  Longview is home to LeTourneau University and the University of Texas Tyler – Longview.  Longview hosts many festivals and events, including the Great Texas Balloon Race and Alleyfest.

White Oak

White Oak is 6 miles west of Longview and is Gregg County. The White Oak Independent School District is a “recognized’ district and is home to 2012 UIL 2A Basketball State Champion White Oak Roughnecks!  White Oak is home to many energy service companies for the oil and gas industry.

Kilgore

Kilgore is 11 miles south of Longview and is located in both Gregg and Rusk Counties.  Kilgore is a city of approximately 12,000 people.  Kilgore is the heart of the East Texas Oil Field and home of the East Texas Oil Museum.  A number of oil field related industries and oil and gas service companies are in Kilgore.

Kilgore College, the home of the Rangerettes, is located in Kilgore.

Gladewater

Gladewater is 13 miles west of Longview and located on the boundaries of  Gregg County and Upshur County.  Gladewater  is a city of approximately 6,000 people.  Known as the Antique Capital of Texas, Gladewater is one of the best places to spend a day searching for that special treasure.

Since 1937, Gladewater has featured the  Gladewater Round-up Rodeo, a nationally sanctioned PRCA rodeo.  Gladewater also celebrates the history of the East Texas oil patch with Gusher Days.

Hallsville

Hallsville is a town of approximately  3200 people  approximately 9 miles west of Longview located in Harrison County.

Marshall

Marshall is a city of approximately 24,000 people and is the county seat of Harrison County which has a population of approximately 66,000.  The District and Harrison County courts are located in Marshall.  A federal district court, the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas, also sits in Marshall.

East Texas Baptist University and Texas State Technical College are Located in Marshall.

Gilmer

Gilmer is a city of approximately 5,100 people and is the county seat of Upshur County which has a population of approximately 40,000.  The District and Upshur County courts are located in Gilmer.

Gilmer is home to the East Texas Yamboree, Gilmer Buckeyes and Gilmer Mirror.

Ore City

Ore City is a city of approximately 1,200 people and is located in Upshur County.  Ore City is a gateway to Lake O’ the Pines, and home to the first Catfish Village.

Jefferson

Jefferson has a population of approximately 97,000 people and is the county seat of Marion County which has a population of approximately 210,000.  The District and Marion County courts are located in Jefferson.

If you like history, bed and breakfasts, and antiques, Jefferson may be the best place in East Texas to visit.  A weekend in can melt the stress of the almost anyone.  There are several bed and breakfasts to choose from.  While you are there, be sure to have dinner at the Stillwater Inn and try a kornbread sandwich at Kitt’s.

Carthage

Carthage has a population of approximately 6,700 people and is the county seat of Panola County which has a population of approximately 24,000.  The District and Panola County courts are located in Carthage.

Like country music?  Carthage is the home of the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame.  Panola College is also located in Carthage.

Henderson

Henderson is a city of approximately 11,700 people and is the county seat of Rusk County which has a population of approximately 53,300.  The District and Rusk County courts are located in Henderson.

Tyler

Tyler is a city of approximately 97,000 people and is the county seat of Smith County which has a population of approximately 210,000.  The District and Smith County courts are located in Tyler.  A federal district court, the Tyler Division of the Eastern District of Texas, also sits in Tyler. The Tyler Division is the Headquarters of the Eastern District of Texas.

Tyler is known as the Rose Capital and is home to the Texas Rose Festival.

Tyler has a number of public school districts and private school choices.  For higher education, Tyler is home to Tyler Junior College, the University of Texas at TylerUT Health Center, and Texas College.

Pittsburg

Pittsburg is a city of approximately 4,700 people and is the county seat of Camp County which has a population of approximately 12,400.  The District and Camp County courts are located in Pittsburg.

Pittsburg is home to many peach orchards, and is a great place to find fresh produce.  The one place you cannot miss in Pittsburg is the Pittsburg Hot Link Restaurant.  The best hot links in the world!

Daingerfield

Daingerfield is a town of approximately 2,500 people and is the county seat of  Morris County which has a population of approximately 13,000.  The District and Morris County courts are located in Daingerfield.

Daingerfield is home to the Daingerfield State Park, one of the best places in East Texas to picnic, camp,  fish and hike.

Linden

Linden is a town of approximately 2,300 people and is the county seat of Cass County which has a population of approximately 30,500 .  The District and Cass County courts are located in Linden.

Linden is another place for music lovers. The Music City Texas Theater is in Linden.

Quitman

Quitman is a town of approximately  people and is the county seat of  Wood County which has a population of approximately 2,200.  The District and Wood County courts are located in Quitman.  Quitman is near Lake Fork, notable for its world-class bass fishing.
